I am, or my child is, being treated primarily by a:
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and damages healthy tissue in the joints. This leads to inflammation (swelling) in these tissues which can cause pain. This damage can eventually lead to other parts of the body. RA is 3 times as common in women.
XELJANZ XR (pronounced ZEL-jans X-R) and XELJANZ (pronounced ZEL-jans) are used to treat adults with RA when other treatments do not work.
Your immune system helps your body by fighting off infections and diseases. When you have RA, your immune response can be more active than it should be. XELJANZ XR/XELJANZ is believed to interfere with the activity of an enzyme called Janus kinase (JAK), which activates other cellular components that normally start the immune response in your body. By reducing the immune response, XELJANZ XR/XELJANZ reduces the signs and symptoms of RA.
Autoimmune diseases such as RA result when the immune system gets too active.
By reducing the immune response, XELJANZ XR/XELJANZ reduces the signs and symptoms of RA.
XELJANZ is a 5 mg tablet taken by mouth twice daily
XELJANZ XR is an 11 mg extended release tablet taken by mouth once daily.

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue, which may include the skin and joints. This leads to inflammation that may trigger joint pain, stiffness and swelling, as well as symptoms such as rough, scaly patches of skin. PsA affects both men and women equally.
XELJANZ (pronounced ZEL-jans) is used to treat adults with active PsA when other medicines do not work.
XELJANZ is believed to interfere with the activity of an enzyme called Janus kinase (JAK), which activates other cellular components which normally start the immune response in your body. By reducing the immune response, XELJANZ reduces the signs and symptoms of PsA.
Autoimmune diseases such as PsA result when the immune system gets
too active.
By reducing the immune response, XELJANZ reduces the signs and symptoms of PsA.
XELJANZ is a 5 mg tablet taken by mouth twice daily.
You can take XELJANZ with or without food (but remember to avoid grapefruit juice).
XELJANZ may be taken alone or in combination with methotrexate or other medicines called
conventional synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (csDMARD).
Ulcerative colitis (UC) typically affects the colon (large intestine) including the rectum and anus. It is a chronic (lifelong) condition that is marked by inflammation and ulceration of the innermost lining of the colon, called the mucosa. UC involves periods of active symptoms and then other periods of remission.
XELJANZ (pronounced ZEL-jans) is used to treat adults with moderately to severely active UC when other treatments do not work.
Your immune system protects your body by fighting off infections and diseases. XELJANZ is believed to interfere with the activity of an enzyme called Janus kinase (JAK), which activates other cellular components that normally start the immune response in your body. By reducing the immune response, XELJANZ reduces the sign and symptoms of ulcerative colitis.
